Pyra

Today I am considering signing up for an inter-generational pen pal from the Bruderhof communities (the link in the title). They have a program that pairs young with old. Stories that come from ages past are invaluable: to teach, to consider changes - for good or for bad, to think outside our own present world and gain perspective for the present from the past. I think about this as I prepare to visit my dear grandma in Montana that has suffered from dementia for the past several months. I am going to bring a tape recorder to get the old old stories she still remembers recorded for the family of my generation and generations following.

Amy's replacement has been named: Priya from California. I know Priya a little who has taught in Czech for the past 3 years. After I told ESI my concerns for a different teammate and the effects of having someone new in this situation for a full 3 minutes, Judi said they have someone interested... Priya... what could I say except, "Oh, I think that will work out just fine." Priya, I am told, is very excited about the school and has already been in leadership so I do believe our team will be solid. Now we just need to hear if the school is okay with this change.

Off to see the behind-the-scene clips of School of Rock. That movie rocks.
