photos of our Mala Fatra (note: not Tatra) hike

Jayne and I went hiking in the Mala Fatras this weekend. It was perfect...restful, beautiful, refreshing, and totally needed to remind me of why and where I am. It's so easy to lose perspective. The perspective I've gained (been reminded of) this weekend is that we need to know that we are loved unconditionally. We don't (myself included) always know this. It's so important. This weekend returned the strength of mind and heart to be able to love (my students, the people I work with, my friends, the people that annoy me on the street) a little better because I felt loved unconditionally.

We hiked for a good 5 hours and started here:

At several points along the way, we thought we were at the top. We weren't.

we sat and read here

The highest we hiked - Sedlo na koni (horse's saddle)

at the end of the day.
